Sage Launch Fly Rod

The Launch Fly Rods offer a fantastic value to the series of Sage fly rods. You won't find a better fly rod in this price range. We feel the Sage Launch Fly Rod Series will deliver the best fishing experience for your dollar. Anglers of all levels of experience have found the performance and quality of the Sage Launch Fly Series to be second to none in their price range.

The three years they spent developing G5  Technology clearly demonstrated Sage learned quickly that the key to better casting is the ability to feel the rod  load. So when Sage designed the Launch series  rods, they applied what they'd learned to create a value rod with these medium-fast action rods have  a smooth, progressive power curve and an extremely high
strength-to-weight ratio. Loosely translated, that means Launch Series rods provide an exceptional level of line connection or feel, allowing anglers of all abilities to cast better and more easily.

Thanks to the Sage  Generation 5 Rod Technology. All Sage fly rods  including the Launch Series Fly Rods are proudly  made in the USA. And because they’re Sage rods, every Launch Series
rod is hand built on Bainbridge Island with wood reel seat inserts, chromeplated snake guides and high-grade Portuguese cork grips.

The Launch fly rod comes with a Lifetime Guarantee. Rod case included. Available in weights 3 through 9  in two- and four-piece models. Another model you may want to check out is the Sage Launch 690-4 Fly Rod .

Sage Launch Fly Rod

This is what one Sage Launch Fly Rod user had to say about his experience with his rod.
The Sage Launch is a medium-fast action rod and as  advertised is quite progressive. I learned to cast on a fast action rod but now I find that I actually prefer something a little slower. The Launch Fly Rod is easy to cast  and for me it just feels right. As advertised it has a fantastic line feel–you really feel the line loading. It is  slightly slower than the Fli but that is what I was looking for–something a fish can put a decent bend in before reaching the backbone. The rod excels casting dry flies in the range of thirty to fifty feet (where most of my fishing takes place). Its performance suffers a little when casting heavy two nymph set-ups. It isn’t the ideal chuck and duck rod and is definitely not a steelhead piece but it casts heavy nymphs well enough for me. You also need about five to seven feet of fly line out before the rod starts casting sweetly.

The bottom line is that the Sage Launch is a very good trout rod at a excellent price that catches fish. Our grandfathers just might have killed for a rod this good. For those of you on a budget (like me) or who just love a good deal, the Sage Launch is worthy of your consideration.
